Look what I can do

Aydan was trying to dress himself yesterday. If you can't tell from the picture, he was putting his shorts on his arms.
Now he's getting it right.

Here he is with eating his first bowl of cereal on his own. I've been too scared to try this, thinking that he would for sure dump the bowl upsidedown and make a huge mess. But, he did really well with it. He didn't dump it over until it was all gone :)

First day of 1st grade

Mackenzie starts 1st grade today!! She was pretty excited about going this morning, which is great. Too bad that excitement doesn't last all year round. She was up early and getting ready without argument. This will probably last for the first week or so, then the excitement will wear off and she won't want to get out of bed and we we'll argue over what she'll wear. Oh well. I think she will do great in 1st grade. She really likes her teacher and so do I. It sounds like they will be doing a lot of activities and fun things in the classroom. Hope she has a great 1st day:)

Fairbury Fair

Yes, its fair time already, which means school is just around the corner. Where did the summer go? I took the Mackenzie and Aydan out on Sunday so they could enojoy the rides and stuff. They had a lot of fun.
Kenzie and cousin Melanie on the Frog Jump ride.
Here they are on the roller coaster. I wish they would have had this ride when I was a kid. Looked like fun:)
Poor Aydan only rode 2 rides, this one and the ferris wheel. I couldn't tell if he liked them or not, he didn't have much of a reaction like I thought he would.
Kenzie and Uncle Jarrad on the bumper cars.
This is them by the time we got home from the fair. Do ya think they were a little wore out?

Our little secret

Mackenzie would be really mad at me if she knew I'm writing about this so don't tell her.

Last night we went to the school to register Mackenzie for 1st grade. On the way home, we were talking about which kids were in her class. After we mention one of the names, Kenzie says, "Mom, don't freak out, but I want Will to be my boyfriend. He is so cute I just want to kiss him! Just don't freak out Mom, and don't tell Dad!" I was speachless, I didn't know what to say!! Boyfriends already? Boys her age are supposed to have "cooties" and be gross. Why is she talking about boyfriends already? Later on, I ask, "So you like Will, huh?" And she says, "Yeah, he is so nice and so cute and he's not mean to me. Don't tell Dad, though OK. I don't want anyone to know."

So here I go, blabbing to everyone about her little crush. Just don't tell anyone okay:)

Time for another haircut

Aydan got another haircut the other day, only this time we buzzed it. Its short but it looks cute. Now he really looks like his Daddy! I didn't know how he would do with the clippers but it didn't seem to bother him to much.

I tried to get a close-up of the new 'do

Of course, they don't smile at the same time. Oh well. At least they are both looking at the camera :)

Favorite toy

Aydan and his favorite forbidden toy. He puts the phone up to his ear and says "Hi!" Sometimes, he'll push some buttons and then he'll hear the recording on the line that says "Your call cannot be completed as dialed....." He smiles and says "Hi" like he really called someone.

Kenzie playing her Dora game, while Aydan tries to help.
